How to go about renting right after graduation

Hi I am new to the BiggerPockets community. I am going to graduate in the next year and I have been working to save up money to invest in my first property. I wanted to know if it would be smarter to rent an apartment for myself for a year while working to further increase my savings. Or should I house hack right after college to get my rent paid for.
