How far is too far for me?

I'm looking to began investing in a flip.Im currently getting my license here in NY then looking to began investing.Was looking to invest in Detroit but I won't be able to be there as often as I need to be.My best options would be Philly or Baltimore? Am I going about it correctly? I will transfer my license if need but I would like some advice on wheres best to began,please can someone help me?
