Live in house or Rent?

Hey BP so here is the situation. I currently rent here in Huntsville but I am currently building a home. I said I wanted to get into real estate investing and thought what a good way to do it buy renting out the house and continue living in my apartment!? Right?! Only "downside" is that its a brand new house and someone else would be living in it, which I don't really care, but I just want to get my real estate investing started. I thought about renting a room out and still continue to live in the house but I could get a substantial and consistent rent in this market for the location of the house. Or should I just move in the house and start with a different house? Wanted your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
