Airbnb laws in Tampa?

Kaleb Henry
Posted

I’m looking to house hack my first property by purchasing a house in Tampa, and renting it out as an Airbnb. I currently work traveling and only go home about every other weekend so I can see this as having a lot of potential! I was originally going to try this method in Orlando, however upon further research found that Orlando has some very strict Airbnb laws requiring the homeowner to be on the premises while being rented out along with heavy local taxes:( any insight and advice would be greatly appreciated

@Kaleb Henry It is true that the city of Orlando does have some strict rules, however, Orlando has a lot of area outside the city limits AND surrounding areas south that do not have the same strict regulations. Some of those locations are even closer and more convenient to the local attractions, so you may want into look into those.
