Is Bigger pockets helpful if I am in Canada

My name is Daniel, I am from Canada and live in Edmonton, I am interested in becoming a real estate agent and investor currently educating myself on the whole field and reading the Beginners guide. I talked to some friends and they told me that the Bigger pockets website and forum is only helpful if I live in  the states I dont know how true this is. Any advice would be appreciated. Please and thank you.
