Where's the Investment Market Analysis Guide?

Hi there BP friends!

I'm new to the game and have been absorbing multiple books/webinars/podcasts, but I haven't seen anything yet about how to pick a place to invest in.  I'm living abroad and looking to buy my first long distance property.  While that means I have the entire USA to pick from...that also means I have the ENTIRE USA to pick from.  It's got me held up in the process.  I'm leaning on San Antonio since I have family there but is familial proximity a good reason to invest in one city over another?  Also, is San Antonio a good place for long distance investment? How do I compare multi-family property from one city to the next?  So many questions.

I'm sure it's in here and I'm just not savy enough to find it yet. Can anyone point me to the resources for doing Market Analysis or guides on how to pick a city/place to invest in?  I imagine there's no cookie cutter plan but if there's something that just lays out questions to ask yourself, it would be a great start.

Thanks in advance!
