DO YOU SHARE SKU'S? IS THAT EVEN A THING?

I recently attended the BWI REI meet up hosted by Bill Ames. J. Scott gave the featured presentation on starting and scaling a sustainable company. He provided so many golden nuggets as he shared six essential steps in his process: 1) segmentation, 2) delegation, 3) documentation, 4) replication, 5) expectation, and 6) prioritization. All fascinating, insightful, and pragmatic approaches to business development that I am eager to employ. The message came right on time as it reinforced many of the tools and insight I am getting from my current read of the classic book The E-Myth Revisited.

Replication of systems, processes, and materials seems so convenient and practical. For example, J. Scott says he has a list of SKU numbers for materials that he shares with his contractors to increase efficiency during rehab. As a starking fresh newbie I have no systems to rely on or past SKU’s to pull from. Do folks ever share their sku list with each other? I am investing Baltimore and the greater Baltimore area and that it would be helpful to have a list of SKU’s for rentals and for retails that I could use as a springboard or reference point. Would I be breaching some unspoken rule of etiquette by asking? Happy investing all!

This file from @Andy Bankston can get you started.  The best thing though is to standardize on your own items.  Once you do that you'll be able tp price out the rehabs efficiently.
