Future economy is holding me back

Mental blocks, stagnation, stagflation, future economy, comfort, family...

All of these things and so much more go round and round in my head. Worried, excited, motivated and yet I do nothing.

What if...

How come...

When...

And yet I do nothing as I worry about making a mistake because after all; I am perfect... no?!

Go smaller yet less profit...

Go bigger but more risk...

I think we all can agree that some version of this is within us all. My psychology understands that we avoid risk because it is comfortable. My ego know that the bigger the risk the bigger the reward.

But yet I do nothing...

I didn't know where to begin, so I waited and thought about how to answer this before I, well, tried to answer this. What kept coming back in my head, and what I kept resisting to let out, is a philosophy that I have regarding people in general, but REI in specific.

This isn't meant as a criticism of you, but you can take this as one on what you said above, as a criticism of your outlook...maybe even what I perceive as your outlook on life in general...as specifically applied here to REI.

Are you ready?  Here it is.

You are not a problem solver.  You may never be, but that can change.  You probably love the phrase, "It sounds too good to be true". If that's true, and you want to be a REI, you need to erase that phrase from your mind...and never utter those words again. Those are the words of problem "finders", and not problem "solvers". Anyone can spot a problem. REI must be able to "solve" problems, or they will not be successful...or like in your case, never get started.

What's stopping you is you...not all the items you mentioned (Mental blocks, stagnation, stagflation, future economy, comfort, family...and above all, risk).

Change your attitude. Instead of finding the problems, look for the solutions.
