First time home buyers over 50

Hello everyone!

I am new here on BP.

For the first time in my life I have interest and passion for Real Estate.

My husband and myself met late in life. None of us have owned real estate.

We both are over fifty. We have been thinking about buying house for awhile and now ready to “pull the trigger”. By the end of this year we are moving from CA to FL.

Our retirement isn’t that far, so we thought that investing in rental properties would be wiser.

But, if our first home is rental property, then we have to live in this house for some time until we buy second house? Or we can rent it out and rent for ourselves somewhere else..? As I said I am newbie at all this. Maybe you have some advice.

Thank you in advance.

Alda ☀️

P.S. Excuse my grammar mIstakes, EnglIsh Is my second language.
