What did YOU bring to the table?

Hello all! I'm trying to find a mentor to learn from however, I'm having trouble trying to figure out how I can bring value to a potential mentor. I work full time and aside from learning as much as I can on Biggerpockets and the podcast, I feel as though I don't have much to offer a potential mentor but I know BP often recommends finding a way to add value to your mentor.

I'd like to ask what have YOU been able to provide to your mentors that made it a more mutually beneficial relationship? Any stories/advice would be greatly appreciated!

@Vincent Harris

I was in the exact same boat as you and the first offer I was presented with was to write blogs for an investor. Guess how many of those I had done prior (0) and guess how much I liked English in high school (0 out of 10). It was my only opportunity so I said I would do it and learned how to write blogs. That led to another investor that need help with his blogging and also searching for MHPs in the mid west, which I learned to do. Up to this point (about 6 months) I was doing this while living in Australia.

Now, through this network and constant BiggerPockets posting I am now assisting a group out in Phoenix where I live towards purchasing 3X 100-200 unit properties ($10 - $20 million each) by the end of this year.

Moral of the story, take any opportunity you get and learn how to do it successfully.

Hope this helps!
