Need opinion on sending letter to duplex owners

Hi BP fam:

Me and my wife are looking to buy our first investment property which will also be our first primary residence. We want to get a duplex to live on one side and rent the other. I am going to send handwritten letters to owners that own Duplex in the area we are looking at. Wanted your opinion on if this letter would be good to send to these owners. I am also a licensed Real Estate, should I disclose that on the letter? I wanted to use my wife's name on the letter.

Hi! My name is _____________ and I am local investor and your property caught my eye! I am interested in talking to you about purchasing your property at: (property address)

Hey Alexander,

I've acquired a few singe family residences through hand writing letters. I can honestly say, it's paid off for me. My approach is very similar to your letter, except I add some "personal" stuff about me to help them see it's not an automated letter.  I also usually throw in something like "I've been passing this property for years and always dreamed of acquiring it". 

I know many people think short and sweet is best, but for me, being a little more personal and "sweet" if you want to call it that, has paid off. Best of luck to you!
