$30-50k passive investment possible cash flows

Posted

Hi Pros,

This is my first post. Pls excuse my ignorance.

I am a software engineer looking to invest $30-50k in real estate. I doubt if I can do proactive investment. Hence looking at passive and crowd funding options.

I have seen some very knowledgeable discussions in the forums and references (https://www.therealestatecrowdfundingreview.com/single-post/2017/10/27/Which-real-estate-crowdfunding-fund-should-I-pick-For-non-accredited-everyday-investors)

Looking at the crowd funding options the target cash flows are ~ 10% which is good compared to other forms of investment.

But can I target a much higher cash flow (~ $1000 per month) for a $30-50k passive investment? I am willing to wait for a year or two to reach this goal. Or is it not possible or too risky?

Thank you!

@Prabhu Madanagopal yes you can target higher return investments, but they come with more risk. You are looking at 24%-40% returns on your money. That is basically speculating.

You may have heard high risk - high return. But the reality is high risk = high potential return.

if you want truly passive returns expecting more than 10% is really pushing the risk threshold.
