What is a good first real estate investment?

Hey guys, first time posting on this app.

So I am 23 years old and I am looking to start getting my foot in the door in real estate. I live in the Albany New York area, near a pretty big college.

I am trying to start make my first investment into real estate but I am not too sure where to start. Is getting involved in student housing a bad first real estate investment?
