Newbie looking to learn Chicago-land market

Hey everyone,

I'm a young guy (24) looking to begin investing (for cash-flow) in real estate in the Chicago-land area.  Right now I'm looking to target affordable (around $125k), safe, communities with decent public schools.  Anyone willing to share any insight into towns/neighborhoods or advice on the Chicago-area market?
