Has anyone who has house hacked had children?

My husband and I are looking to buy but financially it would make sense to move into something that could also help us pay the mortgage. We however have children. It kinda bothers my husband that we would have tenants close by but I see it as a potential future investment. Anybody have any input? I’m super new to this.

We've almost always lived in house hacking type situations. My kids range from 14-28 and have been raised with close neighbors. Honestly, we prefer it! We've always hand selected tenants who had kids for our kids to hang out with and/or people whose company we enjoy. Then we can help each other with pets and plants while vacationing. And have helped watch each other's kids with ease. There's no need to live such solitary independent lives. It does not denote less success or sacrifice to have close neighbors. It's a choice that we've happily and readily made.
