@Alina Beryh, I'm new at this too but Ive actually used Home Advisor to look up potential costs based off of job records they have. That way you can get a ball park estimate for free. Just keeping in mind its ball park and not actual. If you know what needs to be done, tear down wall, add new room, complete new Bathroom, etc. it actually gives you some figures. Good luck dear.

@Adam Steele hi Adam, its totally off topic but it’s interesting to hear your wife was pregnant when you guys purchased. I’m currently pregnant at 35 weeks and my lender told me on Tuesday that I’ll probably have to wait until after I go back to work to get my financing. I was pretty disappointed as I was really looking forward to not renting anymore. How was your purchasing experience with the lenders with your wife being pregnant, or did it. It’s matter.

@Ryan E. I think all these previous posts including yours are great. I was really feeling like the only people who house hacked were single folks. I was feeling bad about considering it. But now it doesn’t matter and just like you said, the benefits!

@Charlene McNamara Thank you for that comment Charlene! I never thought about the vacationing thing. Its such a good thing to know your neighbors.

@Account Closed I totally agree with the sacrifices. I think my daughter is more worried about having neighbor friends. my other two kids and 2 years old and younger, so they don't really know any better. I spoke to my lender and she suggested also to get a duplex as my first property.

@David Oldenburg It looks amazing! Something like this would have been awesome to attend! It’s also great that you took the time to teach.

My husband and I are looking to buy but financially it would make sense to move into something that could also help us pay the mortgage. We however have children. It kinda bothers my husband that we would have tenants close by but I see it as a potential future investment. Anybody have any input? I’m super new to this.
