Books or podcasts to learn RE lingo and math?

Hi all,

I’m completely new to real estate investing. I watch some YouTube videos and listen to podcasts (mainly Grant Cardone but open to more informative ones, too) and just got his book How to Create Wealth with Real Estate. I am interested in this sphere and would like to learn the terminology, how to do the math and all basics of RE.

A little about me:  I’m from NYC, in my mid 20s and have some money saved up that I’d like to put to work but need to know more about what to do with it. I am looking into moving to Texas soon, so I know I’ll most likely have a pay cut if I do. I’ve never worked in sales but I think that’s what I need to experience in order to grow my income (my current job is completely unrelated to anything here). Do you think it’s nexessary to be a broker or get a real estate license to be successful?

Thanks in advance!

Have you read The Ultimate Beginner Guide on this site? I think there are also some posts with recommended books to read, but I can tell you off the top of my head: Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. The Book on Rental Property Investing by @Brandon Turner. Set for Life by @Scott Trench. ABC's of Property Management by Ken McElroy. The Book on Investing in Real Estate with No (and low) Money Down by Brandon Turner.

Those should give you a great start.
