I want to force appreciation in my property to have a better refi or heloc. Im looking to add a bedroom and bathroom to my first floor utilizing additional floor plan space. I would do most of the work myself. How much equity could I be looking at for the add ons. My 2nd unit is a 3/1 and mine is a 2/1 with an extra large living room and sunroom. The appraised value was basically my purchase price of 174k. Are there other things that would be easy to get a good return on? Ive added a dishwasher and garbage disposal to my unit just for convenience. Would refinishing cabinets and countertops in kitchen be a good idea?
