What direction should I go in Real Estate? Help.

Hello, Last year I got my real estate license wanting to leave my job that I’ve been in for 4 years and get into real estate as an agent. The more though I heard people’s concerns about becoming a real estate agent I quickly let the doubt set in about coming and am still in my current job in new construction as an estimator and purchaser. Working for someone else and in the rat race... Growing up I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur and the more I’ve learned about real estate through books, classes, and podcast I think real estate is the is the direction I’d like to go with my entrepreneurial mind. That being said I just don’t know what direction to go. I’ve saved some money up but know if I quit my job and become a real estate agent a bank won’t finance me to buy properties to rent, flip, or do new construction. If I go the real estate agent route I’d like to be doing one of those so I can diversify on ways of bringing in money. On a side note I’ve also looked into wholesaling which looks interesting but tough. If anyone has advice on a 5 year plan or a good direction to go that they have faced a similar challenge I would love to hear your advice and story. Sincerely, Patrick

@John Lee I would suggest that you identify a clear focus and business plan before you quit your job.

What do you like about real estate?  Do you want to be a builder or landlord?  Pick one model to understand and work to master.  Without a clear focus, you will set yourself up to fail.
