How to get the investor to work with you

I know this one investor who does short sales with her team and does it pretty well on a monthly basis. Me and her we have a mutual relationship through other business and soon i want to ask her if she can teach me how to do these short sale deals. Before i ask her, i gotta tell you that she is not much of a friendly and patient person, but she's the only investor that i know enough to ask if i can get coached and show me things. Without wasting and bothering her time, i'd like to know what can i do or what should i ask her to get her to teach me?
Any good ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi Jason, just a point oif view on this....would you be competing with her in the same area? Do ya think someone wants to teach their competition how to do what they do? This is a funny business in many ways. Take Realtors for example; they meet for meetings and coffee, they discuss marketing tips and whatever pertains to the business that day. Usually the broker is getting them motivated to make some money, then they go out and see what they can drum up to compete with the guy they just had coffee with! It depends on what the information is, no one is going to tell you who the buyers are or any potential seller, but they will share tactics, systems, programs, etc. What I find kind of odd is that as you educate the other guy, they know what you know, where is your advantage in doing business.

You could ask her what she thinks of helping you, perhaps appoach it as helping her to the extent she will allow you into the business, maybe as a birddog or a partner investor on a deal she may not want herself or to take what she doesn't want...but what will that get you? Consider reaching out here to ask your questions and get some education on your own. Just some thoughts....Bill
