What should I do in real estate while in college?

Hi I've been really interested in real estate after reading some books on it over the summer. The problem is im 18 and going into college next year. The market is looking like it should be on its way down by 2021 (when I graduate) which will be a good time to start buying. What should I do in the mean time while in college? Should I just broaden my education on real estate? Wait for the market to go down? Try to partner even though we're about at the peak of the market?

Thanks!

p.s. I live in California
