From Germany to Texas. NEW INVESTOR

I'm 21 and I'm very ambitious! I'm eager to to learn. Im from Los Angeles California currently stationed in Germany and will be moving to Texas in April. That's a perfect place to start, I heard it's a very good market. I'll be it the Wichita Falls area, 2 hours away from Dallas. Any tips on how to get started ? Finding a mentor ? I've done nothing but save save save in my 2 year tour in Germany.
