What kind of work are you trying to get done? If its a small scale project, I recommend going to home depot or lowes early in the morning (6am or whenever they open) and you should run into some decent contractors. Just be weary of anyone that ask for 50% upfront for the cost of the project if they are not insured or bonded. Make sure you get their insurance and bond info and call and verify it.
