Real Estate basics - resources?
I'm very new to the entire concept of real estate investment. Right now, I'm trying to soak up as much information as I can. I've been listening to the BP podcasts, reading blog posts, the UBG, and I'm currently reading Building Wealth One House at a Time by John Schaub.
These have all been excellent resources in my real estate investing education. One thing that I'd like to find is something that dives into some of the basics of overall real estate investing. Something that defines the different metrics to analyze on a deal (like Cap rate), as well as different types of financing, etc.
I thought the UBG did a great job of discussing these items at a high level and my interest is piqued. Now I'm trying to find a resource that does a deeper dive into these items. I'm not sure if there is a book like this that exists or if it something you just have to learn as you study the different topics separately. I'd appreciate any guidance other posters can offer on how they educated themselves on the basics.
I'm currently interested in buy and hold for single family homes for cash flow, but this is subject to change as I continue to learn about real estate investing.
Thanks.
