I've been doing my research and spending literally all of my free time studying the SLC Utah market & listening to all the podcasts the past 2 months. I'm already on my second run through the podcasts & am loving the concepts of investing! I recently talked to my banker at my local bank (Utah power), they underwrite all their loans and don't go off a credit score just credit history, I have great credit so this isn't an issue. They have a first time buyers program where they cover 95% & all I need is the 5% DP. I'm really interested in house hacking a SFH in the Liberty wells/sugar house/south salt lake area & can afford up to the low 200's. After I sell my Harley I'll have about half of the down payment & im saving all I can at my full time job landscaping in Park City, I'm goping to purchase before the end of the year & would like to have 3 properties a year from now. I'm quite handy & have a lot of experience in construction/flooring, that is an advantage for me as the rehab costs will be out of pocket until I can refi & rent it out so I can use a HELOC on my seconds property. I know I sound like I'm too anxious already thinkin that far ahead, but I know I can find a way to make it work & I know it won't be easy. Everyone says the first one is the hardest & I am definitely trying to be in this for the long run so I know patience is key. Just curious if anyone in Utah has any suggestions for me or if anyone works in my desired area wholesaling. I know I need to network more& I plan on attending the meet ups, just looking for any additional help I can obtain. So if you're a Utah investor & want to give a newbie a hand I'd love to chat & grab a bite, on me! HB
