I'm ready to start buying and flipping homes in Houston area. As a novice no idea whatsoever on what to do, I had considered a real estate franchise in order to acquire the necessary tools and training but was told I could learn all I need here. I really do need help and advice from the pros on how to start

Save that franchise fee and use it toward the down payment on your first property. Find a mentor at a local REI club. Good luck.
