Second Contract signed.
So I asked for help on the letter and I guess the advice some of you gave was dead on.
So as a thank you, here is my update (also posted this to my blog).
So I finally after 2 months got the contract signed.
I think I got it for an incredible deal.
So after months and months of waiting, dealing with the sellers, finally it all worked out.
Was invited to the house...
I rung the bell... and he opened the door.
Hi R.... good to see you again...
After that he leads me towards the back deck and there she was. The super mistrusting strict sister that has prevented me from signing the contract all this time!!
So I look at her and think within myself. I will out charm you no matter how strong you think you are. Bring it on!
So there she goes, a know it all (she is a teacher). WHat she doesn't know is that both my parents are teachers too. I know how your kind ticks!
So here I go, answering all questions about the contract, scratching things out of the contract with no problem winning their trust.. then I got her all warmed up.. and I throw the piece de resistance in her face..
Was waiting for her to ask me a question so I could throw that secret weapon at me.
Questions like how do you get the money to buy a house in cash, or what do you do for a living, or any such questions to which I can answer..
"ohh nothing.. I am just your humble NASA robotics scientist trying to do good in this world".. BAM... melt, overload, guards go down.
"Shut up and let me sign the contract and take my house now please"
so again.. it worked.. but something really funny happened.
I suddenly saw 2 yellow cards on the table... one my competitor, and the other.. mine.
Whoooow... they chose mine. So I asked them.. why me..
R said, he was bugged constantly with these letter. He called one.. but they had trouble with family so they had to leave state.. then they got mine... and they called me.
I do not know exactly why they didn't go through with the other card on the table... but the strict sister said.. you seem like an incredibly smart individual and just extrude honesty and it just feels right.
SO I said "thank you".
Win for the monkey, the evil competitor can lick his/her wounds and fight another day :)
But this one is MINE!
Tomorrow will be getting contractors in there and get a more accurate repair number.
I would love to do this entire deal together with you all. Maybe another newbie could find this helpful.. I definitely can use more of all your help.
