Investing while in the military

Hello everyone,

Has any single as in non-married service member successfully been able to invest in real estate while enlisted or commissioned. I understand the moving and work but, lets pretend you were sedentary. I primarily ask this because of the restrictions to living off base. In addition if anyone with experience could weigh in on whether a command would go for a sound business plan for real estate investing (like house hacking).

Why not just speak to your command and see if they would allow you to live off base?  Then focus on the house hacking and investing like you want to do.  It would be worth the conversation.
