Questions to ask a owner or agent purchasing a single family home

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking at a deal right now and wanting to turn it into a rental property just outside Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am curious what questions investors have found effective when asking a home owner or agent about a property. Would love to see what questions have helped save you from a bad deal or questions that have helped open a great deal.

Generally, I don't talk to the owner or agent. They will tell you what you want to hear in order for them to sell you the property. Your own due diligence/inspection is what is going to give you the answers.

Everything an agent has ever told me was an outstretched version of a "sort of" truth.
