referral/advice for real estate company formation

Hi everyone,

I am excited to be a newbie to the real estate investing game in Denver. A partner and I are joining forces and making a go of this together. The next step for us is deciding on what sort of company formation will work best for us. Our primary focus starting out will be flipping homes and wholesaling deals. Does anyone have a good referral or good advice on whether we should create a corporation, a LLC, a LLP, etc?

Thank you in advance for any advice and I look forward to becoming an active part of this community.

You'll have days of information if you search the forums about that. That is far more valuable than a referral to any lawyer. Understanding what works in which situation and why is far better than shelling out $$ for an entity that you don't know how to use.

For searching BP, I usually find that it's easier to go to Google, then type:

site:biggerpockets.com <search terms> (without the <>)

The BP search engine is hard for me to get good results, that will let Google do the search, but restrict it to BP :)
