Getting an LLC in Michigan

Hello everyone. I am looking to start wholesaling properties in the Metro Detroit area. I want to make sure I do everything the legally. With that being said, is it necessary to have an LLC to wholesale properties in Michigan?? or is it something to get later after a few deals are under my belt?? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks guys....
