$300 for a license?

I live in California and while I know getting a license isn't always necessary I want to weigh the cost/benefits before deciding for myself. So far, the perks sound nice.

What's a good deal on getting a real estate license? I happened across a real estate agency that offers classes for a license for $300 that last a total of about 7 weeks. (Not consecutive)

This was my very first offer I've heard so I'm just asking around to be safe!
