Stupid Guru
Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas on how to get the money back from a guru course. I wasted a lot of money on a guru, before I knew about Bigger Pockets. It was a complete waste and now they wont return my phone calls or email. I would love to be able to do some marketing but most of my extra money from my full time job goes to paying off the credit cards. thank you for reading and anything that would be helpful would be greatly appreciated.

@Charles Sullivan what was it that you wanted to learn at the guru event.. was it how to wholesale. ?
BP is a big landing spot for wholesalers who tend to want to jump in with little or no money and make some money flipping contracts etc.
I was at a Guru event this last weekend.. This one was about rehab and flipping.. And the advice they gave was to Utilize wholesales to find deals.. that its not worth their time to try to grind around to make 3 to 5k on a deal let the wholesaler spend all the money on direct mail and time and effort and deliver a deal to you on a platter.. then you use what they teach you to rehab and flip... They also recommended going to REIA;'s and networking with other investors and to search and learn on line...
but like anything as I looked at the folks there its just like what I see on BP some will do great they just need a kick in the pants and pointed in the right direction and some basic tools and others don't really have the drive or ability to really do anything in RE.
For me it was great networking I met a BUNCH of pretty neat people that I can help fund deals for.. I am really excited about it frankly.. I met more people in one weekend at this event than I have being on BP for almost 2 years.. BP is very hit and miss from a deal funders perspective way to many folks with very limited training who think just listening ot pod casts and reading blogs that really just gloss over stuff is the key to doing anyting in this business.
I would do what @Curt Davis does and get your RE license forget about wholesaling get a license and make some dough... Many of the folks I met at this event were in fact realtors probably more than 20 people I talked to ... and they know the score .....
your not really going to learn anything different on BP than the material you probably got from the Guru class its all the same info there is only so many ways to do REal estate just take the material you got and execute with it... BP is no magic pill
