Step by step instructions

I've been reading a lot of RE books (most recently spent my weekly education budget on books recommended by a thread on this forum!) and so far haven't encountered a great deal with explicit step by step directions. My question is, what resources would you recommend that provide clear step by step directions on the entire process of finding, financing, and purchasing a property from start to finish? I'm interested in owning apartment houses if that will help narrow it down.
