How to start...

i have done a little reading on real estate investing. I am seeking someone to mentor me in this process. I have looked at starting out as a bird dog and see where it goes. I have thought about the renatus education as i would need someone to walk me through deals. Either that or starting off wholesaling properties. And at some point goal is to be a full fledged REI. If anyone know what can/should i start out doing? Am i on a good approach here or am i just have no idea. Where can i find these REIs who would be willing to teach a complete newbie.

@Jonathan Herbert- Welcome to the vibrant BP community.

So, let me try to address your call for help.

My theory is that no pain results in no gain. Actually, you need to take action in the form of immersing yourself in REI podcasts, blogs, forum engagement to name a few. You have logged on to BP, that's an excellent start and the right place to be.

There are a lot of things you can learn here on BP, say in the next 30,60,90 days if you set a schedule, put your mind to it and stick with it.

I did a search on BP for Renatus and found the link below. You may want to spend some time reviewing the comments and see if you are still emboldened to pursue their training.

Lastly, below are some links you can use to start your REI career. Frankly, I have seen a lot of people achieve their goals via their immersion in the BiggerPockets' trove of information and guidance, so you can do likewise.

I always tell people REI is NOT rocket science, we all can do this well!

Ok, now that you have taken your initial step, below are some quick links to get engaged.

REI can be very daunting, but, before you go searching for that 1st buy, please take a few minutes to bone up on the tips in link below.

However, this site thrives on interactions and as such we encourage two way exchanges and look forward to educational and thought provoking ideas relevant to REI.

Good luck and keep us posted about your REI journey!
