Anyone interested in mentoring some new who is looking to break into the anchorage market? I have read many books and watched many webinars, while obtaining a BA degree in real estate. My biggest question is whether or not I need a real estate license to avoid any "broker" like actions? Alaska business website does not really answer my question.

The short answer is, it depends.

It depends on what you are doing, the means by which you are trying to accomplish it, and how you're particularly going about it.

I have my license for RE, however, there are some things I will not do as my fiduciary duty resides in serving the public. There are things non-licensed people can do that I won't, and also vice-versa.

What are you looking to do in RE?
