Real estate license

Hello I am taking online classes to get my real estate license here in NY, thus far I have completed 10 out of 75 hours. I feel I will have more competitive edge by having more control over the transactions and having bigger leverage on selling properties with agents. I would also be able to give higher commissions to sell my investment properties to agents or try to list it myself. Any other thoughts?
