Where To Start

I was wondering where some of you guys started out? What was your first real estate deal? How did it turn out?

Also, where should I begin? I have a couple months to get my final plan together but I am 18 and could use some advice on getting started. I appreciate any comments or advice. Thanks!

@Tristan Hill  You start investing in Real Estate the same way to start anything. Do you research. You question is about as broad as it gets, so there really isn't much I can offer. There are so many different ways to approach real estate investing. You need to find which approach works best with your personality. For example, I hate managing projects that  have no control over. I turns out that I would not be good at flipping. I am not a strong marketer, so wholesaling would not be a strong fit for me. I love to research deals, and analyze market trends... so I lean towards "buy & hold" investing. You may be a bit unsure as to what these terms mean, but don't be discouraged. You are young and just need to learn.

What I would do if I were you... I would listen to every podcast, from start to finish. You should be able to complete this in a month or so (you didn't have plans to invest before that, right?). I can guarantee you that your mindset will change, and you will have clarity and begin to focus on how you can invest.
