How do I get started in Omaha, NE?

I just found this website as I was searching around for information on how to get started investing in real estate in Omaha. I'm married, 3 kids, work a full time job, but honestly I'm tired of having to keep punching the clock for a paycheck that might not be there tomorrow. I'm tired of just getting by and my wife and I have decided to start taking action. Both of us have always wanted to get into real estate investing, but we aren't really sure where to start. I've contacted a real estate agent to talk about purchasing some homes for rent, but then that raises too many follow up questions like should we purchase a multi unit, or should we just flip the home, and on and on.

I would greatly appreciate some guidance on where to go and how to proceed. I don't want to have to keep going to work lol Thanks in advance
