Property market value

Hello – can someone please help me make sense out of how my property market value can decrease by a couple of hundred thousand dollars in less than one year? Is property value and market value the same thing? Could this be the result of some type of maliciousness by those who work in the real estate industry? I’m just not understanding this at all and I am so distraught. Thank you.
