I have a question a friend of mine that owns some property said it’s going to be harder for me to get a four unit next because I acquired a duplex first is this true ?

No it shouldn't make a difference. If you have an FHA loan on the Duplex you need to have lived there for one year. Once the year has passed you can get another FHA loan and move into the 4-plex.
