Real Estate Developer is my goal

I have tried Real Estate Wholesaling and I find it to be too much work and not enough money. My ultimate goal is to be an Investor and Developer. Do I need to go to school to accomplish my ultimate goal?

@Louise Whidby If you think wholesaling was too much work, then you don't want to be a developer.

In answer to your question, yes, you will need an education if you don't currently know anything about the business, or a job that allows you to learn. Developers need to have a very broad base of knowledge with an understanding of the processes of real estate, title, construction, infrastructure, engineering, zoning, land use, financing, and so much more.Developers are the ones that take a concept and make it a reality, and as simple as that seems, there's an incredible amount of time, money, and work that happens between concept and reality.

As for being an investor, basically you need to have a knowledge of the market, types of properties, values, financing, anyalyzing deals, real estate process, ability to work with tenants or property managers. You will be investing either yours or others money, and in order to do that with as little risk as possible, you need to have a good understanding of the market, and the numbers invovled.
