Newbie - advice and questions

Hey there! Although I have been a BiggerPockets site member and listener for many years, I have to admit that I've been stuck in analysis paralysis. I am now ready to push past this and get out there! With this being said, I have interests in a few different avenues: STRs, BRRR and flipping. My two questions are:

1. What is one piece of advice you'd give me as I begin my journey?

2. With my interests above, what avenue would be the best direction to begin with in the Phoenix Metro area?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Christina,

I would recommend finding a Real Estate Investor group in your local market. This could be extremely helpful in determining which direction to start with and help you build a team of people to support/mentor you in your area.

I would also recommend starting with a turnkey property. My husband and I started out with a long-term rental that was ready to go. The company we bought it from also did the management in-house. It was a great starting point and helped us build confidence. We now self-manage 7 of our properties.

The first step can be the hardest, but it is so worth it! You got this!
