My heating system isn't working and I need assistance with what to do and I have a whole in my wall

Are you a tenant? Landlord? IS this in an apartment or a single-family home? You really need to give us some details so we can help you.

If you are the Landlord, call an HVAC specialist to repair the furnace. If you are a Tenant, report it to the Landlord and demand they repair it immediately or threaten to report them to the building inspector, HUD, or whomever will listen.

That wall is lath and plaster. Not the easiest thing to fix, but not impossible. If you are a Tenant, try to cover it with something that prevents heat from escaping. Easiest solution may be to place a towel or blanket over the hole and hold it in place with a box or piece of furniture.

If you are the Landlord, you need to learn how to repair it or hire a pro:
