Recently I found a property in a neighborhood and I'm sure that it is vacant no one has been there in months and also the grass is over grown how do i go about finding who the owner is and getting in contact with them. I checked the tax accessors website and i have found the name of the owner but no address or phone number.

Once you find the property call your local Title company and ask for them to search the recorded trusts deeds and grant deeds for owner and lender info. Also ask if there is a notice of default recorded and any liens... Mechanics and tax. Make sure they email you copies...

With that information youll be able to move forward or punt..

If you move forward then send a letter to the both the mailing address and property address using first class postage and forward address correction information requested. The Post Office counter clerk will guide you in the set up.

Also interview the neighbors for information. While doing so ask them if their house is for sale...

If you have the courage put a for sale sign in the front yard of the property... If an owner is around they call you pissed off.

If you still cant find them then shoot Steve Washington a line and ask him to run the sellers back ground... He is a member here and a great guy... All he does is find abandund propriety oweners.
