Websites/apps to determine safety of a neighborhood

Hello!

I was wondering what websites I can use to determine the crime rate and safety of the neighborhood? I am trying to get a property out of state but I do wanna do my due diligence of research of the area before buying

    I think the best way is to have boots on the ground to know the areas or drive them yourself. In KC where I am at street by street is different so knowing the areas is important. A website will give you an idea but major metros have so many niches and caveats to them.
