Trying to progress in Cleveland

Anthony W.
Posted

Thoughts on this: I wanted to achieve buying 2 duplexes and still haven't bought any this year. Not sure if my buy box is to tight or the market I'm in is just not good but I'm feeling the pressure to buy but don't want to buy bad. Anyone have this feeling? What did you do in this situation? I don't want to not meet my goal but also don't want to buy bad.

Quote from @Henry Lazerow:

Cleveland seems like a market that still cashflows if you know what parts get the high rents? What returns are you looking at, or are the buildings cheap just such bad shape?

Give The Ultimate Guide to Grading Cleveland Neighborhoods a read. That should pretty much answer your question and provide some more insight into the in's and out's of the area. Cleveland is a tricky market. Lot's of folks are killing it, but I also so a lot of folks get beat up pretty bad here.
