Buying property in San Antonio, Texas

Hi BP community, I’m a new investor and I am interested in buying property and relocating to San Antonio, Texas. I am researching what community I want to live in, but I am looking to buy 2-4 unit property to house hack. I am planning a trip in July to see If like the area, if there is any real estate agent or investor in Texas that would love to discuss the market or what I should be aware of, I’m all ears. Super excited to start my real estate portfolio, won’t be easy but I’ll be worth it!

One thing to look out for: We tend to get a lot of "multifamily properties" that aren't legal multifamily properties. They get listed on the MLS, and new investors and/or out of state investors often get duped into buying them. Do not take listing info at face value and always check the zoning and that the additional units were added legally. There are plenty of other issues to look out for here, but this is one of the most common ones I've seen new investors run into here.
