Real estate investing amount

Darrell Taylor
Posted

I have currently saved up $140K, I'm curious to know what would be a good percentage of that 140K to put towards buy and hold real estate investing ? I know 140K isn't a lot of money when it comes to investing but I want to buy my first property but I'm curious to know how much I should use and how much I should keep. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

@Darrell Taylor the answer to your question to going to be entirely dependent on the deal itself, how the numbers play out, and how much risk you're willing to take on. This is why many investors define their criteria upfront and already have a number in mind before pursuing properties. Your classic example of an SFH deal is $200 per month in cash flow and a CoC of 12%. Use this as a guideline reference. Hope this helps!
