Mentor... Montgomery, Alabama?

Hello REI world!!!

When starting out in anything, it's always smart to gain knowledge from a person who been there! So, with that being said... I'm search for a great mentor in the Montgomery, Alabama area. A person that will sit down and let me pick their mind to gain knowledge in the REI field! I'm looking to start out in wholesaling, so I need a willing person to coach, guide, and work with me through my first deal. I'm always looking to gain knowledge and talk business with a person who use to be in my shoes. It get me excited knowing the opportunities that are ahead of me! So...

Thanks in advance!

P.S. The next REI club meeting in my area don't meet again for another 3 weeks.

If you can, stay away from the high-priced education. Simply because you can get it for free. If you pay for anything, invest in becoming a realtor. I have found that it will be easier and you can do things on your own time.

Mentors are tough to find, even if you get one it will again be on their time. Hit the ground, go out, ask questions, show up at open houses, rehabs, and just ask. If people do not answer your questions, go somewhere else. There is always someone willing to help!

I invest in the Montgomery area, but I live in Maryland. I went to Tuskegee back in '04.

Keep posting here on BP, there are other investors in the Montgomery Area. However, I have also found that there are fewer who are on BP (tons of investors in Montgomery). I guess it is just different. People I know there that own a ton of houses never heard of BP. I was born and raised in Alabama and I know that at times the South can be a little behind on new ideas ;)

You are welcome to contact me, I am a beginner, but I am moving along and I can help you where I can. I am always willing and will never charge a fee for information or assistance.

In the meantime, if you need a realtor, mortgage company, attorney and title services, HVAC contractor, property manager, I have contacts there that are good and willing to assist. AND they will not break the bank!
